What exactly is a community and how do you build one? These are the questions this course answers. Communities come in many different forms and go through stages in their development. We all live in a community and many of us want to know how to improve and develop our communities. If you are interested in community leadership and development then this course is a great start for exploring the issues and identifying a way forward. 

You will explore:

  • The definition and meaning of community in your own context
  • Barriers and challenges of community integration & cohesion
  • How we can build bridges in communities
  • Community leadership and how individuals can improve their local communities

Entry Requirements

You must be working at Level 1 or above in literacy.

Progression 

This course will help develop life skills and self-development for individuals and those supporting others.
